Mika Miko "So Tough" (The Slits Cover)

The L.A. punk band Mika Miko has covered the Slits' "So Tough," which appeared on their 1979 album Cut. 30 years later, the Slits have an album, Trapped Animal, coming out; watch out for other covers this month in anticipation of that album, which releases on Narnack Records October 20, 2009.

Midnight Juggernauts "This New Technology (Radio Edit)"

On Julian Casablancas' first single for Phrazes for the Young, "11th Dimension," he drops a line that cuts eerily close to what Strokes fans are thinking with each new solo project: "your faith has got to be greater than your fear."

Klaxons "Sweetheart"

If you're a huge fan of Klaxons, you might've been waiting for this moment for a long time (or not). The British trio is releasing a new song this month, but before you get all excited, this song won't be included in the successor of 2007's album Myths of the Near Future. The song is a cover from highly influential New York band Suicide - and it sounds exactly the same as the original. Seriously.

'Sweetheart' from Klaxons (Free MP3 here), actually a solo journey for Jamie Reynolds, shares the same instrumental, vocals and untune from the original. The only difference you'll notice is that the Klaxons' version is one second longer than the Suicide's.
