Uffie "Pop The Glock (Original Mix)" (3:26)

FORCEDEXPOSURE.COM: Are you ready to Uff?? She just turned 18, she's from Miami, she survived a typhoon! Uffie discovered hip hop in the land of dirty south, she never got rid of it. A few years ago she moved to Paris ended up in the fashion world. She booked DJ Feadz for a show, then fell in love. A couple of years later, Feadz asked her to do some vocals for his forthcoming project. Uffie was born and now it's just the beginning! Welcome to Ed Banger records' first female artist: Uffie. That girl knows the score, she got produced by supa hot frenchies Feadz (Bpitch) & Mr Oizo (Fcom), the remix is homemade (and pretty HOT) by Sebastian.

FLUXBLOG: It might be a bit of an understatement to say that Uffie isn't a particularly good rapper. There's a certain charm to her vocals, but it's essentially the kind of amateurish rapping that you can't get away with unless you happen to be a very pretty girl. But really, the rapping on this track is a total MacGuffin. It's there to carry the song along and provide context, but the appeal of the track lies in the way the time-lagged vocoder ghosts her vocals, and how the woozy beat is entirely at odds with her party-centric lyrics. It all comes together to sound roughly like listening to a pop song on the radio while you are thoroughly zoned out.
